With the legalization of sports betting in North Carolina, DraftKings has partnered with NASCAR to enter the market. As part of the deal, NASCAR will apply for a sports betting operator license on behalf of DraftKings before the June 14, 2024 launch date. This will allow DraftKings to offer its popular sportsbook app in North Carolina.

DraftKings has proven their ability to enhance fan engagement across sports,” said Joe Solosky, NASCAR’s Managing Director. “We look forward to working together to provide NASCAR fans in North Carolina with innovative gaming experiences.”

As one of the first daily fantasy sports companies, founded in Boston in 2012, DraftKings helped pioneer the industry. Their fantasy products now cover major professional and college sports leagues. With the new North Carolina sports betting laws, DraftKings will offer attractive signup promotions and special offers to engage fans.

The partnership also continues DraftKings’ status as NASCAR’s exclusive daily fantasy sports provider. The auto racing series sanctions several national touring series and holds two major events in North Carolina each year – the Coca-Cola 600 and Bank of America Roval 400. This makes the state a natural fit for DraftKings.

NASCAR maintains an office in Charlotte along with the NASCAR Hall of Fame. In 2020, it became the first major sports organization to partner with the American Gaming Association on responsible gambling initiatives. This foundation makes the DraftKings deal a responsible way to engage North Carolina sports fans.
