With statewide mobile sports wagering debuting March 11th, prominent operators like DraftKings, FanDuel and Underdog have launched aggressive North Carolina advertising drives across multiple platforms.

The campaigns prepare to capture market share in North Carolina once the North Carolina Lottery Commission allows real-money betting to begin. Timing aligns with the busy ACC basketball tournament and March Madness, promising substantial immediate interest.

Multi-Platform Ad Blitz Ongoing for NC Sports Betting

While bettors can’t yet create accounts or bet through North Carolina sports betting apps, sportsbooks are sparing no opportunity to build brand recognition pre-launch.

Numerous ads now blanketing television, streaming media, social platforms, and even ridesharing apps announce upcoming sportsbook arrivals with launch now less than four weeks away.

The industry’s heavyweights DraftKings and FanDuel already have TV spots running. FanDuel ads are even appearing within Lyft’s in-app updates.

Underdog Sports NC touts its impending entry across platforms such as Hulu. And with the recent Google policy shift allowing North Carolina sports gambling ads, promotion volumes will only amplify further.

Which Sportsbooks Are North Carolina-Bound?

At least eight prominent sportsbook operators have lined up market access partnerships to procure North Carolina licenses. These include:

  • Bet365 (partnered with the Charlotte Hornets)
  • ESPN Bet (partnered with Quail Hollow Club)
  • Fanatics (partnered with the Charlotte Hornets)
  • FanDuel (partnered with the PGA Tour)
  • DraftKings (partnered with NASCAR)
  • BetMGM (partnered with Charlotte Motor Speedway)
  • Underdog (partnered with Sedgefield Country Club)
  • Caesars Sportsbook (partnered with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians)

The Catawba Nation also holds a standalone license. Their sportsbook partner remains unannounced.

Though formally licensed and operational, most will likely rollout North Carolina sportsbook promos as early as March 1st allowing account creation and funding. DraftKings NC has already tapped Carolina Panthers alum Greg Olsen to front its local advertising efforts.

Capitalizing on March Tournament Betting Frenzy

The imminent betting launch meshes perfectly with college basketball’s most exciting stretch. With the ACC and NCAA Tournaments captivating spectators, operators see a prime opportunity for customer acquisition and retention.

Extensive March Madness media coverage offers valuable visibility alongside result-impacted advertising. Dramatic last-second swings during tightly contested tournament action also promises to hook many casual fans on ongoing sports wagering.

By aligning branding efforts with March timeouts surrounding frantic bracket-busting upsets, sportsbooks can forge strong associations with surging betting interest. The potential windfall has brought out brands’ highest-investment pitches to date.
