The Carolina Panthers entered the 2023 season with high hopes after trading multiple draft picks, including two first rounders, for the number one overall pick used to select quarterback Bryce Young. However, their season could only be described as an utter disappointment.

While we continue to await the launch of North Carolina sports betting, the Panthers vastly underperformed expectations. Preseason oddsmakers predicted around six wins, but the team stumbled to just two victories behind the struggles of Young and a porous defense.

With incoming North Carolina betting apps and promos ready to capitalize on sports fans, the Panthers instead soured their fanbase. Young finished with the fewest passing yards for any 16-game starter, while the defense allowed the fourth most points in the league. Even the firing of coach Frank Reich after 11 games and dismissal of GM Scott Fitterer following the season could not spark a turnaround.

The team that traded away the chance to draft Young, the Chicago Bears, will now pick first as a result of the lopsided deal. They are expected to select Caleb Williams out of USC to be their quarterback of the future. Meanwhile, the Panthers will be without a first round pick for the second straight year.

It’s a lost year for a franchise that hoped North Carolina sportsbook operator deals would accompany a potential playoff push. Instead, Panthers fans saw an offense hindered by little talent besides Chuba Hubbard and Adam Thielen. The team now faces a long rebuild under new leadership.

As North Carolina betting apps prepare to go live when sports gambling gets legalized, sites like BetMGM will surely offer North Carolina sportsbook promos to entice sign ups. Rest assured the Panthers will not inspire much betting confidence without major changes, however.

The incoming wave of North Carolina sports betting options cannot hide what was an embarrassing season for Carolina. With the number one pick long gone and seats of power vacant, the team faces a long road back to relevance. Their 2023 performance can be summed up in one word: Disappointment.
