The operators have submitted their applications by December 27th. Are expecting to launch their platform by March after the Super Bowl.

This partnership became necessary for Fanatics due to a change in North Carolina sports betting legislation in September. The new law requires sportsbooks to have a written agreement with a sports organization within the state in order to gain market access.

Additionally it has been reported that the Hurricanes have recently acquired Backyard Bistro near PNC Arena in Raleigh. It is anticipated that this establishment will serve as an in person sportsbook as per WRALs sources.

The spokesperson mentioned that more details about this partnership will be disclosed at a date.

The online North Carolina sports betting market is quite competitive and active. Regulators have learned that there are currently 14 operators showing interest in entering this market. However there are 11 available spots tied to professional sports organizations, within the state. There is a possibility of expansion if new leagues or teams enter North Carolina.

To date three other operators have already announced their partnerships for operating within North Carolina.
